The history of the current Doolhof Farm began in 1995. Of the 373 hectares constituting the farm, careful analysis indicated that about 80 hectares, across several different microclimates within the farm, were eminently suitable for growing excellent grapes for winemaking. Hendrik Laubscher has been responsible for creating a farm yielding wine grapes of the highest quality. In 2003 Doolhof came under the stewardship of the Kerrison family. Hendrik Laubscher was appointed Director of Viticulture and became a founder member of the new Doolhof team. In 2004, David Kerrison was appointed Commercial Director and Therese Swart, previously with Groot Constantia, joined the team as Head Winemaker/Director of Wine. A new winery was completed ahead of the 2005 harvest.
